COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Advanced Acting for Animation is for students at an advanced level of skill.  This workshop focuses solely on acting shots; such as character dialogues, and pantomime acting choices. 

This Workshop will show various ways to approach acting for animation and how to try and find meaningful and heartfelt performances. Tips and Tricks, approaches and theories will also be discussed during the blocking, in-progress, and final animation stages. Mini-lectures will cover all aspects of animation along with the weekly critique.

The goal of Advanced Acting for Animation is to build a solid understanding of performance.  Techniques, theories, ideas all culminate in this class to prepare you for a job creating memorable performances

  • 2 Hand Acting (blocking)
  • 3 Listening and watching (blocking)
  • 4 Concealed emotions (blocking)
  • 5 Internal and external conditions  (blocking)
  • 6 Student choice (blocking)
  • 7-11 Polishing previous assignments
  • 12 Anim Jam!

PREREQUISITE:

We recommend that students take Introduction to Acting for Animation before taking Advanced Acting for Animation.

 *Advanced Acting for Animation is limited to 8 students to allow for maximum individualized focus. We encourage a comfortable, collaborative environment so that students can learn from their own assignments, the critiques of others’, instructor demos, lectures, and guest speakers.
